Ocean & Outback

Ocean and Outback House Removals are a family owned and operated company established in 1996 but have been in the home removal business in Queensland for three generations.

They are the leading house removal company in Gympie and pride themselves on the quality of their work, as well as their friendly, professional service.

As they celebrate 90 years of moving homes across Queensland in 2019, they decided it was a good time for a new website – and so contacted us at Brand House Co about the job. Little did they know when we first met that we had a special connection to removal homes having completed and renovated our own home removal only a few years ago. Having trawled over many home removal websites we knew what prospective customers wanted to see and find.

However first stop was to refresh the Ocean and Outback logo from it’s very tired old image – keeping it in the same genre of a sketched house in the aqua palette of their original logo. As a Queensland company, it seemed obvious for us to design a Queenslander-style home to use as the graphic icon and married with a friendly font for the name – echoing the friendly service they offer at Ocean and Outback.

Next was the website. Lovely owners, Mel and Graham Larsen, revisited and photographed many of the homes from their past moves to feature, so that the viewer can see just how great they look today renovated and often restored. We chose an outstanding old home in Cedar Pocket to featured on the home page, complete with tin scallop roof detail and steeply pitched roof.

The history of the family business was important to share on the site, so we have featured many very old images of house removals going back to the 1920s as well as plenty of moves which have been carried out over the ensuing 90 years.
